The electric vehicle (EV) market is growing quickly and EV battery recycling needs to keep up.
When done responsibly, recycling EV batteries can recover many materials with a low environmental impact. The more metals and minerals we can reuse, the fewer we will need to extract and refine. Responsible recycling is already possible, and we at UCS hope to see policies passed in California that require sustainable EV battery recycling.
