Mark Specht is the Senior Campaign Manager for the Climate & Energy program at the Union of Concerned Scientists. In his role, he leads research and advocacy efforts in California and other Western states to advance the transition to a less polluting and less carbon-intensive energy system. Prior to joining UCS, Mr. Specht was an energy analyst for Ascend Analytics. He earned a bachelor's degree in integrated science and science in human culture from Northwestern University, and a master's degree in philosophy from the University of Otago.
